Volleyball Recap: New Site Comes Up Short

New Site was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Hatley Tigers. If the Royals were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While New Site ultimately came up short, they really made Hatley work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-20, 16-25, 25-16.

Johna Kate Lindley paced New Site's offense, picking up 22 kills. Lindley got some help from Claudi Ann Brown and her 22 assists. Roxy Marshall controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

New Site's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Hatley, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. New Site will challenge rival Walnut at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hatley is set to square off against their familiar foe Baldwyn at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
