Baseball Recap: Vinton Comes Up Short

If Vinton was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Pickering on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell just short of the Sulphur Golden Tornados by a score of 4-3 on Saturday.

Vinton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brennan Magee, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Vinton's loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Sulphur, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 23-11 record.

Coming up, Vinton will square off against Southside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.5, the Sharks 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Sulphur does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
