Baseball Recap: Astronaut Find Success

Astronaut's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They skirted past the Titusville Terriers 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the War Eagles have posted against the Terriers since May 2, 2022.

Nathan Edwards made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Edwards was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Astronaut: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Logan Cepeda was incredible, scoring two runs while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave him a new career-high.

Astronaut's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Titusville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

The future could be bright for both Astronaut and Titusville: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Astronaut will try to hand Cocoa their eighth-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Titusville will look to extend Cocoa Beach's three-game losing streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
