Basketball Recap: La Salle Institute Triumphs

La Salle Institute posted their closest win since January 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They skirted past the Troy Flying Horses 59-57. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cadets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Several Flying Horses players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amaya Harris, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 16 points. Harris' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Laila Thomas, who went 5 for 8 en route to 10 points and six boards.

The win got La Salle Institute back to even at 4-4. As for Troy, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

La Salle Institute has already played their next matchup, an 83-32 loss against Catholic Central on the 10th. As for Troy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 36-25 victory against Cohoes on the 10th.
