Volleyball Recap: Del Norte Tigers vs. Rye Thunderbolts
Del Norte extended their postseason success on Friday against Rye. Everything went their way against the Rye Thunderbolts as they made off with a 3-0 win. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.
The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-21.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Del Norte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kailee Gallegos, who had 15 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Gallegos has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynley Brown, who had 17 digs, 11 kills, and a block.
Del Norte kept the net locked down and finished the game with ten blocks. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rye only had two.
Del Norte's victory bumped their record up to 22-3. As for Rye, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-6.
Del Norte has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Lyons on the 15th. Rye does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
