Baseball Recap: Southland Picks Up Tenth Straight Win on the Road

Southland waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 12-8 win over the Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander Superlarks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 back in April.

Noah Goergen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Goergen was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Southland got a massive performance out of Beau Sathre, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Sathre's first of the season. Austin Swenson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles.

Southland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in three consecutive games.

Southland pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
