Baseball Game Preview: St. Joseph's - Plaucheville Eagles vs. Family Christian Flames

St. Joseph's - Plaucheville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Dodson with a sharp 18-3 win. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Family Christian hadn't done well against Liberty Magnet recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way two weeks ago. The Flames blew past the Patriots 10-4. The Flames might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.

Sam Stewart made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Stewart was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Terrance Kilbourne was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Parker Ruckman, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Family Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Magnet only posted an OBP of .207.

The victory snapped St. Joseph's - Plaucheville's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-12 record. As for Family Christian, their record now sits at 19-14.
