Soccer Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian vs. Monticello

The Cornerstone Christian Cyclones will face off against the Monticello Sages at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Cornerstone Christian's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Cornerstone Christian is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Peoria Christian on Saturday. The Cyclones came up short against the Chargers, falling 4-1.

Meanwhile, Monticello unfortunately witnessed the end of their 16-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to Bloomington Central Catholic. Monticello were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than four goals in the four contests prior), but Bloomington Central Catholic's defense proved too tough.

Monticello's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 22-3. As for Cornerstone Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
