Soccer Recap: East Mecklenburg Takes a Loss

After flying high against Garinger last Thursday, East Mecklenburg came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Butler Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Butler this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in April.

East Mecklenburg's goal came courtesy of Emma Shehane, who's now up to 13 this season.

East Mecklenburg's loss dropped their record down to 9-9-1. As for Butler, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-2 record this season.

East Mecklenburg didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Charlotte Catholic on the 8th. As for Butler, they have also already played their next game, a 0-0 draw against Central Cabarrus on the 7th.
