Basketball Recap: Manual Starts off Right with Win over Non Varsity Opponent

Manual had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They strolled past Non Varsity Opponent with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 52-37.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manual to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ma'Kya Maxwell, who shot 46% from the field en route to 14 points and seven steals. Those 14 points gave Maxwell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Arieanne Douglas, who went 6-for-9 on her way to 10 points.

Manual smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Manual has already played their next game, a 41-21 win against Flanagan-Cornell on the 18th. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 84-31 defeat against Fuqua on the 17th.
