Basketball Recap: Makenzie Ricks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Johnston over South Johnston

West Johnston was the 35-32 winner over South Johnston when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The West Johnston Wildcats took a hard 47-31 fall against the South Johnston Trojans on Thursday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makenzie Ricks, who posted ten points and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Trinity Perry Moore, who scored 11 points.

West Johnston's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for South Johnston, their victory bumped their record up to 6-16.

While West Johnston had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
