Basketball Recap: Poynette Takes a Loss

Poynette lost to Lake Mills back in February of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pumas took a blow against the L-Cats, falling 80-41. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the L-Cats are ranked 24th).

Poynette's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Lake Mills, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Coming up, Poynette will venture away from home to square off against Lakeside Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Mills, they will host Turner at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
