Basketball Game Preview: Centennial Coyotes vs. Willow Canyon Wildcats

The Centennial Coyotes will challenge the Willow Canyon Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Centennial has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Centennial is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Lake Havasu, posting a 94-54 victory. Given the Coyotes' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Knights are ranked 276th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Willow Canyon waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They skirted past the Eagles 74-71. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since December 28, 2023.

Willow Canyon's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.6 points. As for Centennial, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12.

Things could have been worse for Centennial, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took an 81-65 loss to Willow Canyon when the teams last played on January 9th. Can Centennial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
