Recap: New Iberia Yellowjackets vs. Zachary Broncos
On Saturday, the New Iberia Yellowjackets faced the Zachary Broncos in a battle between two of the state's top teams. New Iberia skirted past Zachary 39-37. The victory was familiar territory for New Iberia who now have four in a row.
Wayne Randall-bashay continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points.
New Iberia pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Zachary, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
New Iberia and St. Martinville will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Martinville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 170th, while New Iberia is ranked 11th). As for Zachary, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome East Ascension at 5:00 p.m. on December 19th.
