Hoosier Crossroads recap November 5, 2013
Westfield extended the longest winning streak in Hoosier Crossroads this week by beating Harrison, 42-14. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
McCutcheon took down Kokomo 42-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Nick Ferrer threw for 243 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 11-18 with 0 interceptions.
Ferrer and Elvin Caldwell gave Westfield a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Brandon Karsnick also contributed to the rushing game with 30 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Fishers's Connor Christiansen and J-Shun Harris have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Christiansen has thrown for 1,865 yards this season, while Harris has 50 catches for 838 yards. Brownsburg's Toks Akinribade leads the league in rushing yards with 1,014.
Caldwell of the Jake Gilbert's team is only 62 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 179 carries Caldwell has put up 938 yards this year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when McCutcheon takes on the Shamrocks. At the moment, Ken Frauhiger's team is in seventh, while Westfield is in first.
