Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Anselmo-Merna). They blew past the Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades 50-14 on the road on Friday. With the Coyotes ahead 36-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Anselmo-Merna was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're rushing yard total in four consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Chambers/Wheeler Central still got an impressive performance from Cooper Pokorny, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also caught a touchdown.

Anselmo-Merna's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Chambers/Wheeler Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Anselmo-Merna will welcome Mullen at 2:50 p.m. on Monday. Mullen will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Anselmo-Merna surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chambers/Wheeler Central, they are taking a road trip to face off against Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
