Softball Recap: Rayne Takes a Loss

Rayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bunkie Panthers. The Wolves were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Rayne's loss dropped their record down to 0-6-1. As for Bunkie, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rayne will take on Church Point at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rayne has given up an average of 13.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Bunkie, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers face off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bunkie has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
