A victory for Poca just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They were dealt a 51-13 loss at the hands of the Sherman Tide.

Poca's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Preston Bonnett, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and Spencer Jones, who rushed for 54 yards. An impressive showing, but Jones really ramped things up playing D: he forced two fumbles and made eight total tackles.

Poca wouldn't let Sherman keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Jones was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance.

Sherman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was River Williams, who picked up 58 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 51 yards. Trey Lester handled things on the ground, rushing for 103 yards.

Poca has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Sherman, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
