Palatka proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Interlachen Rams 5-4. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won seven games in a row.

Cason Thomas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Malloy, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Palatka pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Interlachen, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8.

Palatka didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-7 victory against St. Joseph Academy on the 8th. As for Interlachen, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-1 win against Williston on the 8th.
