Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Comes Up Short

Covenant Christian managed to slip by Guerin Catholic the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Warriors lost 11-1 to the Golden Eagles on Monday. Surprisingly, this marked the Warriors' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Blake Cope made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Covenant Christian has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season. As for Guerin Catholic, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant Christian will face off against Monrovia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Guerin Catholic, they are taking a road trip to square off against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
