Baseball Recap: Millburn Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Caldwell, Millburn was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Glen Ridge Ridgers by a score of 7-2.

Millburn gave Derek Arduino the start and clearly made the right call: he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Asher Holland, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Millburn's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 5-11 when he doesn't). Eli Balady also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Millburn's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Glen Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Millburn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 victory against Montclair on the 12th. Glen Ridge has also already played their next game (against Parsippany Hills), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
