Recap: Central Grizzlies vs. Clovis East Timberwolves

The Central Grizzlies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 70-37 loss at the hands of Clovis East. While losing is never fun, Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Clovis East is ranked 106th).

Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Branden Ezell, who scored nine points. Ej Jefferson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Central has not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Clovis East, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-10.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-61 defeat vs. Clovis on the 9th. Clovis East has also already played their next match, a 62-59 win against Buchanan on the 9th.
