Basketball Recap: West Charlotte Wins Going Away Against Garinger + How To Watch

West Charlotte won the last time they faced Garinger and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lions strolled past the Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 45-26. The Lions pushed the score to 36-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Among those leading the charge was Kenya Grier, who posted 17 points along with six assists and six boards. Those 17 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris Reaves, who scored nine points and six steals.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Angelina Moreno, who earned eight points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Marisa Garvin was another key player, putting up four points along with seven steals and six boards.

West Charlotte has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 54.0 points this season. As for Garinger, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, West Charlotte will be taking part in a tournament against Fort Mill at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Garinger, they will host Ballantyne Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
