Softball Game Preview: Ogden Tigers vs. Union Cougars

Ogden hasn't had much luck against Union recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. Ogden has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ogden is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They came up short against South Summit, falling 18-7.

Mia Sugimoto made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Union didn't have quite enough to beat Morgan on Friday and fell 3-2. The Cougars have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Union saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payzlei Parrish, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Ogden's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Ogden couldn't quite get it done against Union in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-6. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
