Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Comes Up Short

Trinity Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a blow against the Sandy Creek Patriots, falling 79-39. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while the Patriots are ranked 26th).

Trinity Christian's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Hart, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Echols, who put up 11 points and three steals.

Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Sandy Creek, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Looking ahead, Trinity Christian will square off against Mary Persons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.47 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sandy Creek, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against LaGrange at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots will be up against the Grangers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.47 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
