Polytechnic had already won nine in a row and they went ahead and made it ten on Wednesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Mayfield Cubs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since August 16th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Polytechnic who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 14-25, 25-16, 21-25, 15-11.

Polytechnic's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Mayfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Polytechnic will venture away from home to challenge San Marino at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Mayfield, they will head out to take on Flintridge Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
