Softball Game Preview: Hopkins Vikings vs. Plainwell Trojans

Hopkins is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Plainwell a six-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Hopkins Vikings will look to defend their home field against the Plainwell Trojans at 4:15 p.m.

On Wednesday, Hopkins didn't have quite enough to beat Otsego and fell 11-9.

Ava Vanderkolk was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Williams, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Plainwell can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cadillac 7-5.

Madison Seibert made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Seibert was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taya Miller, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
