Basketball Game Preview: Logan/Palco vs. Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks

Logan/Palco is 7-0 against Wheatland-Grinnell since December of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Logan/Palco will face off against the Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks at 7:30 p.m. Logan/Palco is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Logan/Palco is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 87-25 victory over Triplains/Brewster. Logan/Palco has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Logan/Palco relied on the efforts of Rhett Kats, who went 13 of 18 en route to 28 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, and Case Ashmore, who went 9 for 15 on his way to 19 points in addition to six boards and six steals. The game was Kats' 16th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Gaschler, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points.

Logan/Palco smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Wheatland-Grinnell lost 74-48 to Ness City on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Thunderhawks in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Wheatland-Grinnell's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Logan/Palco, their win bumped their record up to 14-0.

Everything came up roses for Logan/Palco against Wheatland-Grinnell in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 56-21 victory. In that contest, Logan/Palco amassed a halftime lead of 37-16, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
