Basketball Game Preview: Williams Vikings vs. Rock Point Cougars

Williams is 0-10 against Rock Point since February of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Williams Vikings will take on the Rock Point Cougars at 3:30 p.m. Williams has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Monday, Williams came up short against Mogollon and fell 37-29.

Meanwhile, Rock Point had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.8 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They strolled past the Redskins with points to spare, taking the game 65-51.

Rock Point's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Williams, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Williams came up short against Rock Point in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 66-55. Can Williams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
