Softball Recap: North Lenoir Takes Down Roanoke Rapids in a Playoff Battle

North Lenoir extended their postseason success on Friday against Roanoke Rapids. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Yellowjackets a 4-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Not much got past Maddie Rouse, who gave up just four hits to keep Roanoke Rapids off the board.

At the plate, North Lenoir saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hallie Fowler, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

North Lenoir pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Roanoke Rapids, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6.

Coming up, North Lenoir will venture away from home to challenge Camden County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bruins' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Roanoke Rapids does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
