Baseball Game Preview: Damonte Ranch Mustangs vs. Reno Huskies

Damonte Ranch hasn't had much luck against Reno recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huskies at 11:00 a.m. Damonte Ranch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Damonte Ranch took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past McQueen 6-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Matt Bonczyk Jr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Damonte Ranch is 2-0-1 when Bonczyk Jr allows two or fewer earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise.
