Volleyball Recap: Owyhee's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

After a string of six wins, Owyhee's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 3-1 to the Eureka Vandals. If the Braves were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Vandals when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-12, 19-25, 25-23.

Owyhee's offense was headlined by Kylie Thomas and Aleeyah Knight, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Sierra Garity and her five assists. Carmen Atkins controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Owyhee's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Eureka, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Owyhee and Eureka will both be playing Lund the next time they take the court. The Braves will head out to face the Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Vandals will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
