Basketball Game Preview: Mesivta Mustangs vs. The City School Lions

The Mesivta Mustangs just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face The City School Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mesivta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season.

Mesivta is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Mercy Career & Technical just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Mercy Career & Technical 64-59.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tuvya Gross, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Tzvi Bril, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, it may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but The City School ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They slipped by Pine Forge Academy 41-40. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season.

The City School's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Mesivta, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3.

Everything came up roses for Mesivta against The City School in their previous matchup on Wednesday, as the team secured an 86-48 win. In that contest, Mesivta amassed a halftime lead of 46-24, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
