Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt lost against Flat Rock back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bears fell just short of the Rams by a score of 7-5.

Roosevelt got a good showing from Ethan Ivity, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Ivity a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

At the plate, Roosevelt saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jadn' McGowen, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Andrew Briones also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Flat Rock, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will face off against Allen Park at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Flat Rock, they will take on Milan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
