Basketball Game Preview: Olympian Eagles vs. Poway Titans

The Olympian Eagles will take on the Poway Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Olympian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 86-63 margin over Ramona. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Olympian can attribute much of their success to Sammell Humphries, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards, and Tristan Anderson, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten assists. Anderson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Walker, who went 5-for-9 en route to 13 points and three steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Olympian was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Poway beat La Jolla 56-44 on Tuesday.

Olympian pushed their record up to 23-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. As for Poway, their win bumped their record up to 18-11.
