Soccer Game Preview: Lewiston vs. Mt. Ararat

The Lewiston Blue Devils will square off against the Mt. Ararat Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewiston's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lewiston is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Brunswick, who was ranked tenth at the time (Lewiston was ranked sixth). The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Friday. The result kept Lewiston happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 9th.

Meanwhile, Mt. Ararat fought the good fight in their overtime match against Yarmouth on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Clippers by a score of 2-1. The loss continues a trend for Mt. Ararat in their meetings with Yarmouth: they've now lost three in a row.

With that draw, Lewiston's record moves to 7-1-3. As for Mt. Ararat, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1.

Lewiston beat Mt. Ararat 2-0 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
