Volleyball Game Preview: Hilliard Darby Panthers vs. Dublin Jerome Celtics

After both having extra time off, the Hilliard Darby Panthers and the Dublin Jerome Celtics will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hilliard Darby proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Dublin Coffman. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since March 28th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Hilliard Darby got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 17-25, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Dublin Jerome entered their tilt with St. Charles on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cardinals. The Celtics not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 3-0).

Dublin Jerome never let St. Charles on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 27-25.

Dublin Jerome's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Hilliard Darby, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
