Basketball Recap: Apopka Victorious

Apopka won the last time they faced Osceola, and Jhenelle Francis did her part to make sure it happened again. The Apopka Blue Darters blew past the Osceola Kowboys 55-24 on Tuesday thanks in part to Francis, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Another player making a difference was Asia Jones, who posted three points. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Despite the loss, Osceola still got an impressive performance from Keyanna S., who put up nine points. That was a full 37.5% of Osceola's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Apopka's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Osceola, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Apopka wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-39 win against West Orange on the 17th. As for Osceola, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-30 loss against University on the 16th.
