Basketball Recap: Dawson Miller Key Part of a Team Effort in Longhorns Win

Garner proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 22) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-54 victory over the Newcastle Bobcats. This was a revenge game for the Longhorns: when they faced off against the Bobcats back in January, they had to take a 46-26 loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Garner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dawson Miller, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Juluis Crews, who put up 13 points and six steals.

Garner's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Newcastle, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Garner will face off against Perrin-Whitt at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Garner has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Newcastle, they will take on Woodson at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
