Natalia hadn't done well against Lytle recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Natalia Mustangs took down the Lytle Pirates 41-27. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs who have now won three games in a row.

Despite the defeat, Lytle saw an underclassman step up: freshman Mia Rollins posted nine points. Those nine points gave Rollins a new career-high.

Natalia is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Lytle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Natalia will head out to challenge Hondo at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hondo will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Natalia surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lytle, they will welcome Jourdanton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jourdanton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Lytle likes a good challenge.
