Recap: Vista Ridge Wolves vs. Pine Creek Eagles
The Vista Ridge Wolves pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 76-65 to Pine Creek. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Vista Ridge of the 50-47 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the loss, Vista Ridge still got an impressive performance from Brandon Avance, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Avance has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Monck, who scored 18 points.
Pine Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyler Chatman led the charge by scoring 24 points along with four steals. Chatman hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Blake Marshall, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds.
Vista Ridge has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Pine Creek, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.
Vista Ridge will head out on the road to square off against Doherty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Doherty's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 15 games. As for Pine Creek, they will be playing at home against Rampart at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Creek has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
