Softball Recap: Clements' Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Clements came into Friday's matchup having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Falkville Blue Devils by a score of 7-4 on Friday.

Carly Nave spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lexie Henderson and Peyten Burks did most of the damage at the plate: Henderson scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Burks scored a run while going 1-for-3. That's the most hits Henderson has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emma Rikard, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Clements' win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Falkville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Clements will host North Sand Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Falkville, they will head out to face off against Brindlee Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
