Volleyball Recap: Girard Comes Up Short

Girard lost against Louisburg two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Trojans fell 2-0 to the Wildcats.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-10.

Maddie Coester paced Girard's offense, picking up five kills. Coester got some help from Breelee Merrell and her ten assists. Averie Bennett controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Girard's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Louisburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Girard has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Fort Scott on the 25th. As for Louisburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Shawnee Mission West on the 27th.
