Baseball Recap: Desert Sunrise Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Desert Sunrise's offense. They fell just short of the Yuma Criminals by a score of 1-0 on Thursday.

Jacoby Garcia was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Alexander Vale was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Desert Sunrise always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yuma only posted an OBP of .400.

Desert Sunrise now has a losing record of 2-3-1. As for Yuma, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4-1.

Looking ahead, Desert Sunrise will be playing at home against Eastmark at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Desert Sunrise is facing Eastmark at the right time seeing as Eastmark is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Yuma, they are taking a road trip to square off against San Luis at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
