Volleyball Recap: Ursuline Academy Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Lafayette

Ursuline Academy faced Lafayette in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bears took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. The Bears' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Leading Lafayette to victory were Aubrey Dumstorff and Alexa Hastings. Dumstorff had 13 digs and two aces, while Hastings had five digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Hastings a new career-high. Addy Wiese also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Ursuline Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Lafayette, the victory (which was their 21st in a row) raised their record to 36-1.

Ursuline Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lafayette, they will take on Marquette at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
