Basketball Recap: Crown Point Comes Up Short

Crown Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-58 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hartford Central Tanagers. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tanagers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Crown Point still got an impressive performance from Trevor Harris, who posted 22 points. Harris' afternoon made it 32 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Tyler Bowman was another key player, putting up ten points.

Crown Point's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Hartford Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Crown Point wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-38 victory against Lake Placid on the 14th. Hartford Central has also already played their next game, a 47-45 defeat against Hawthorne Valley on the 12th.
