Volleyball Game Preview: Winside Wildcats vs. Pender Pendragons

The Winside Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Pender Pendragons on Monday. Winside will be strutting in after a victory while Pender will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, Winside made easy work of Walthill and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Winside was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-6, 25-13.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Pender's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Howells-Dodge by a score of 2-1. While the Pendragons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Jaguars 25-19 in the first set.

Pender started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-16, 25-22.

Pender's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Winside, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Everything went Winside's way against Pender when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as Winside made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
