Baseball Recap: First Baptist School Takes a Loss

First Baptist School extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 8-4. They came up short against the Pinewood Prep Panthers, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-0 defeat on Tuesday.

As for Pinewood Prep, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games.

For Pinewood Prep's part, Max Poulakis and Will Watson did most of the damage at the plate: Poulakis went 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Watson went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Watson has posted since back in March.

First Baptist School and Pinewood Prep should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. The Hurricanes (ranked 77th) will meet Battery Creek (ranked 216th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Pinewood Prep will face off against Starr's Mill at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (8 vs. 49).
