Mt. Zion won the last time they faced Jacksonville and things went their way on Saturday too. The Mt. Zion Braves walked away with a 71-61 victory over the Jacksonville Crimsons. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Crimsons are ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mt. Zion's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Jacksonville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Zion will host Charleston at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jacksonville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Springfield Southeast at 7:00 p.m.
