            Volleyball Recap: Benton Panthers vs. Conway Wampus Cats        
        
		
        
        
            Benton faced Conway in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wampus Cats by a score of  3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wampus Cats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-0  back in August.
 Benton wouldn't go down easily and took Conway into a fifth set  but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-13, 25-14, 16-25,  15-13.
 Sahara Stamps paced Benton's offense, picking up 11 kills. Stamps got some help from  Aniston Fox and her 18 assists. Stamps was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with three aces.
 Conway got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Olivia Frazier out in front who  had 16 assists and nine  digs. That's the most  assists  Frazier has posted since back in September.
Benton's loss  ended  a  five-match streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 21-9. As for Conway, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record  this season.
 Benton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  a  3-0  defeat against Shiloh Christian on the 27th. As for Conway, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  3-1  win against Southside on the 28th.
